At Natures Harvest, we had the distinct pleasure of hosting a delegation from KOICA (Korea International Cooperation Agency) at our demonstration farm in Nyambiri, Koboko – West Nile. The visit was not just an exchange of ideas but a powerful testament to the progress and potential of cocoa farming in this vibrant region of Uganda.
Welcoming KOICA to Nyambiri – Koboko West Nile
The day began with a warm welcome to our guests from South Korea, who were eager to learn about our sustainable cocoa farming practices. As they toured the Natures Harvest Demonstration Farm, they were impressed by our commitment to eco-friendly agriculture and our efforts to empower local communities through cocoa cultivation.

Our farm, which started as a modest 5-acre plot in 2011, has grown into a 20-acre model of modern farming practices. This transformation is a reflection of our dedication to revolutionizing Uganda’s cocoa industry, improving household incomes, and fostering environmental stewardship.
Meeting the Pioneers of Cocoa Growing in Koboko – West Nile
One of the highlights of the day was the visit to two of our most inspirational farmers, Mzee Atiba and Willie Fatuma. Mzee Atiba, a seasoned farmer with years of experience, has been an integral part of our community, contributing to the high standards of cocoa quality we are known for.

Willie Fatuma, an aggressive and passionate female cocoa farmer, shared her remarkable journey and future aspirations with us. She spoke with pride about her plans to build a beautiful modern house and provide a quality education for her children—all financed by her thriving cocoa business. Willie’s story is a shining example of how Natures Harvest is not just promoting cocoa farming but also transforming lives in West Nile.

The Impact of Cocoa Farming in West Nile
Cocoa farming has become a lifeline for many in the West Nile region, providing a sustainable source of income and improving livelihoods. At Natures Harvest, we are proud to be at the forefront of this agricultural renaissance. By introducing smart farming techniques and eco-friendly practices, including afforestation and climate smart agricultural practices. In this regard, we are helping farmers like Willie Fatuma and Mzee Atiba achieve financial independence and contribute to the economic development of their households and communities.
Our partnership with KOICA represents an exciting opportunity to further expand our impact. With their support, we aim to enhance our training programs, improve infrastructure, and continue promoting cocoa farming as a path to prosperity in West Nile.
Looking to the Future
The visit from KOICA was not just a day of exchange but a celebration of what has been achieved and what lies ahead. As we look to the future, Natures Harvest is committed to empowering even more farmers, promoting sustainable agriculture, and ensuring that the sweet success of cocoa farming reaches every corner of West Nile.
A key part of our future vision is value addition—transforming our cocoa beans into higher-value products like cocoa butter, cocoa powder, and ultimately, rich, delectable chocolate bars for the discernable consumers. By investing in processing facilities and training local communities in these advanced techniques, we aim to capture more value within our farmers, creating more jobs and further improving the livelihoods of our farmers.
Our partnership with KOICA represents an exciting opportunity to expand these efforts. With their support, we plan to enhance our training programs, improve infrastructure, and continue promoting cocoa farming as a path to prosperity in West Nile.
Together, with our partners and the tireless efforts of our farmers, we are cultivating a brighter, more prosperous future—one cocoa bean at a time.
