At Nature’s Harvest K.K. Limited, we believe in the power of partnerships to transform lives. Our commitment to sustainable agriculture and community development has long been at the heart of our work. This vision was vividly demonstrated during a recent courtesy visit by USAID to Koboko District, a key agricultural hub in the West Nile region of Uganda.
A Strategic Visit to Unlock Regional Potential
For decades, USAID has actively supported agricultural development in Central and Western Uganda, contributing significantly to the region’s growth. However, recognizing the untapped potential of West Nile, USAID is now pivoting its support to this region. The visit, led by Mr. Oceng, Ms. Kevin, and Mr. Ryan Kratzer, was aimed at gaining deeper insights into the agricultural landscape of Koboko and exploring areas for impactful intervention.
“This visit marks an important step in extending USAID’s agricultural focus to West Nile. We are here to listen, learn, and identify opportunities for meaningful collaboration,” said Ms. Kevin, USAID’s Agriculture Team Leader.

Engaging with Local Leaders: A Key Discussion on Agriculture and Youth Involvement
The visit began with a productive meeting at the Koboko District Local Government Production Office. During this session, the teams engaged with district production officers to discuss the region’s agricultural status and explore ongoing interventions. The conversations also delved into the crucial topic of youth involvement in agriculture, a key aspect of sustainable development in the region.
The discussions underscored the need to empower the younger generation to actively participate in agriculture, which is essential for ensuring long-term food security and economic stability. The local leaders emphasized the importance of creating programs that offer youth opportunities to learn, grow, and lead in the agricultural sector.
Impressions from Nyambiri Demonstration Farm
A key highlight of the visit was the USAID delegation’s tour of our Nyambiri Demonstration Farm, which showcases our efforts to improve household incomes through sustainable farming practices. We enjoyed a lively discussion with the USAID delegation and we were greatly encouraged by their contributions to session.
“This is exactly the kind of initiative that drives real impact. It’s inspiring to see the tangible efforts aimed at empowering communities,” remarked Mr. Ryan Kratzer.

The Nyambiri Demonstration Farm serves as a hub for knowledge transfer and empowerment, offering farmers hands-on training, extension services and seedlings. To date, we’ve distributed over 500,000 cocoa seedlings, which have proven to be a transformative cash crop for households in Koboko.

The Promise of Cocoa Farming in Koboko
Cocoa farming has emerged as a beacon of hope for Koboko farmers, providing a stable and high-value source of income. By investing in cocoa production, farmers have been able to improve their economic resilience and secure better futures for their families.
“Cocoa has transformed the way we think about farming. It’s not just a crop—it’s an opportunity for a brighter future,” said one farmer during the visit.
USAID’s Commitment to Koboko and West Nile
During the farm tour, the USAID delegation commended Nature’s Harvest for its strategic approach to addressing the challenges of West Nile, such as limited infrastructure and the pressures of supporting refugee populations.
“West Nile has incredible potential. By working together, we can create solutions that are both sustainable and scalable,” noted Mr. Oceng.
Collaboration for a Sustainable Future
As USAID evaluates ways to align its support with the needs of West Nile, this visit highlights the importance of collaboration among stakeholders. We hope the budding relationship between Natures Harvest, USAID, and the Koboko District local government will pave the way for innovative solutions to enhance agricultural productivity and address systemic challenges.
Looking ahead, we are optimistic about the opportunities this collaboration presents. By consolidating efforts and resources, we can ensure that farmers in Koboko and the greater West Nile region thrive, contributing to a more prosperous West Nile.
